Who we are

Talanta Sports City, Ngong Rd, Nairobi ("we", "us") runs the website talantasportscity.com and is the data controller for the details you give us there. To contact us about your data, e-mail [email protected].

What we collect when you sign up

The phone number and/or e-mail address you enter; the wording of the consent you agreed to, and its version; the date and time you signed up; and the website you used.

We do not ask for your name, and we do not store your IP address with your details.

What our systems record automatically

To keep the website running and secure, our servers keep technical logs of the requests they receive, which include your IP address. These logs are deleted after 14 days.

To stop automated or repeated sign-ups, we count sign-up attempts from each IP address for about one minute.

Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the website, also processes your IP address when you visit.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: which pages are visited, for how long, from what kind of device and browser, and roughly where in the world. It does not tell us who you are.

Why we use your details

Only to send you ticket news and updates about Talanta Sports City by SMS and e-mail, as you asked. Our legal basis is your consent, under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

We do not sell your details, and we do not use them for anything else.

Who handles your details

Cloudflare provides security and delivers the website through its global network.

Google provides Google Analytics, which collects the website-use information described above on our behalf.

To send you updates, we export the list of people who signed up into an SMS and e-mail delivery service that sends the messages on our behalf. Your details are not shared with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep your details

We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until we stop sending these updates.

If you unsubscribe, we keep only a record that you opted out, so that we do not contact you again.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, and object to our use of them, by e-mailing [email protected].

You can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in any of our messages. Withdrawing does not affect what we did with your consent before.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your details, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (www.odpc.go.ke).

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and starting _ga_) to count visits and see how the website is used. You can block them in your browser's settings, or with Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Signing up sets no other cookie.

If you open a ticket or pre-sale link we have sent you, we set a cookie that is needed to show it to you. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people apart from automated traffic.

Children

The website is not meant for anyone under 18, and people under 18 should not sign up.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
